    Unconventional challenger brand CUPRA is now available in Australia, one month earlier than planned thanks to the online ordering of special Leon, Formentor and Ateca Launch Edition models.
    The response to CUPRA's alluring intersection of design, performance and technology has been such that more than 9,000 expressions of interest have been registered at cupraofficial.com.au – around 30% of which have accrued in a fortnight.

    A star is BORN - Australian production of CUPRA's battery electric car starts in November; on sale early 2023

    CUPRA Ateca: Australia's newest car brand shares details of rapid 221kW SUV
    CUPRA Australia today announces specifications for the inbound CUPRA Ateca SUV, which will be available in one highly specified model grade, named VZx.
    The Ateca will form part of CUPRA's Australian model launch in mid-2022, which also includes the Leon hatchback, and the Formentor crossover SUV.
    Combining striking design and DNA with blistering performance, the CUPRA Ateca, named after the historic town in Spain, pushes the sport paradigm of 'sports utility vehicle' even further with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine mated to a seven-speed DSG and 4Drive all-wheel drive. This potent combination produces 221kW and 400Nm, enabling the CUPRA Ateca to sprint to 100km/h in 4.9 seconds.

    From February 28, Daniel DeGasperi is VGA's Product PR Communications Manager. Reporting to the VGA's General Manager of Corporate Communications, Paul Pottinger, Daniel brings 15 years' experience as a journalist and, over the past three years, the spokesman for Lexus Australia and senior account director of Havas. At VGA, Daniel will work with Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles and Commercial Vehicles, SKODA and CUPRA.
    Roxanne Salzborn joins VGA on January 31 in the role of Group Communications Specialist. Previously Roxanne interned with Audi Australia's communications team since which she has worked with the solar company sonnenConnect. She will work with VGA's Corporate Communications Specialist Adriana Wahbe on brand and internal matters for Volkswagen, SKODA and CUPRA.

    CUPRA Born arrives in Australia for testing
    The first fully electric vehicle from the Barcelona-based performance and lifestyle auto brand CUPRA will soon be seen on Australian roads. CUPRA, which is introduced to this market later this year, has been freighted to Sydney, the first of three Born EVs that will be tested over 10,000km each.
    This will be the first time that time that the Born has been driven outside Europe, where it is a Car of the Year finalist.

    CUPRA Australia continues to ramp up its operation in the lead up to its local launch in mid-2022, with three key appointments to the team, sought from within the Volkswagen Group network. Mr. Jeff Shafer has been appointed to role of Head of Product, joining from the Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles brand, where he has led the brand's product marketing team for the past five years.
