Modified or pure wave? Projecta’s guide to power inverters

Power inverters are a useful piece of equipment that makes life easier and more convenient for a range of off the grid applications, both work and recreational. Broadly, there are two different types of inverters available, modified sine wave and pure sine wave – depending on the end use, one style will be better suited than the other.
The major difference between modified and pure wave inverters is how closely they replicate 220-240 V mains power. Mains power is consistent and clean with minimal fluctuation, making it suitable for all household appliances and sensitive equipment without risking damage. A pure sine wave inverter closely replicates the power output of mains electricity.
