Volkswagen Australia's smallest car now makes the biggest noise in the form of its limited edition of 400 Polo 'beats'.
Co-developed with iconic US audio specialist Beats Electronics – founded by none other than Dr Dre – this Polo with an 81 kiloWatt engine also packs a 300 watt premium sound system that delivers via two tweeters, two woofers and two full-range speakers augmented by a subwoofer in the spare wheel and an 8-channel amplifier.
This wall of sound integrates with the Composition Media infotainment system (distinguished by a 'beats' logo on the home screen) and App-Connect.
Based upon the Polo 81TSI Comfortline, the Polo 'beats' special model is visually differentiated with door mirrors in a contrasting paint colour, two-colour 'beats' design lower body side decals and 'beats' badging on the B-pillar. There's also darkened tail lights, high-gloss black radiator grille and 16-inch Syenit alloy wheels.
The front comfort sports seats feature the 'beats' logo and are exclusively trimmed in a 'shooting star' cloth with grey Alcantara side bolsters. Further premium flourishes include leatherette door trims, 'beats' badging on the front speakers, seat belts with red stitching and front door sill plates badged "beatsaudio".
All this adds a retail price premium of $2,000 to the Polo 81TSI Comfortline. Each car comes with a set of red beats Solo² headphones, which can be enjoyed when the Polo is parked.
