DS Automobiles has launched a limited-run DS 4 Crossback to the Australian market – with 25 of the two-plus-two, high-riding coupes initially available to Australian customers.

The all-new DS 4 Crossback benefits from a higher ride height, 17" Canberra alloys, revised suspension tune, all-new Euro-6 diesel drivetrain and a new six-speed automatic gearbox, co-developed with Aisin.

As standard, the DS 4 Crossback features over the previous hatchback; LED-headlamps and daytime running lamps, black wheel arch trims, a differentiated front end and rear spoiler also finished in black, grey roof bars, black door mirrors, door sills and carpet mats, and a ride height 30mm higher than the hatchback. 

Standard on-board technology extends to an all-new full-colour 7-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation, Apple Carplay, Mirror Link, DAB+ radio, dual-climate control, keyless entry and start, massaging front seats, leather seats and steering wheel along with steering wheel controls.

A comprehensive suite of standard safety features extends to blind spot monitoring, rear camera with front and rear parking sonar, automatic lights and wipers, LED fog-lamps with cornering function, tyre pressure warning sensors and six airbags.

Powering the DS 4 Crossback is an all-new 133kW, 400Nm, BlueHdi turbo-diesel drivetrain, paired to a new Aisin six-speed automatic.

Compared to the outgoing model, the drivetrain develops 13kW of power and 60Nm more torque – while sipping half a litre less fuel on the combined cycle and is Euro-6 certified over the previous Euro-5.

The new more frugal drivetrain also increases performance, with the 0-100km/h acceleration time arriving 0.7 of a second quicker at 8.6 second when compared to the outgoing drivetrain.

The DS 4 will carry a driveaway price of $46,990 and includes a 6-year, unlimited kilometre warranty.

General Manager of DS Australia, Kai Bruesewitz, said the limited run DS 4 sets a new beginning for premium French vehicles in Australia.

"The evolution of the DS marque in Australia will take some time and will be led by product, with the first all-new DS vehicle launching in the coming years," said Bruesewitz. 

The DS 4 is available in a choice of six exterior colours including Blanc Nacre (White) and five metallic paints at $800.

Metallic colours include Orange Tourmaline, Gris Artense (Grey), Blue Encre (Navy), Noir Perla Nera (Black) and Gris Platinum (Silver).

18" Brisbane alloy wheels are also available as an option for $1000.
