Citroën Australia’s first electrified vehicle, the C5 X Plug-in Hybrid, has arrived and is now available for order. This stylishly modern vehicle showcases Citroën’s distinctive design language throughout, combining cutting edge comfort technology with an electrified drivetrain to create a captivating addition to the local Citroën range.


With a Manufacturer’s List Price of $73,9901, the Citroën C5 X Plug-in Hybrid will be exclusively available via customer order, with each customer’s order placed with the factory. Customers ordering today can expect to take delivery of their new Citroën C5 X Plug-in Hybrid from Q4, 2024.

Hybrid Performance

The Citroën C5 X Plug-in Hybrid delivers a combined 165kW of power and 360Nm of torque from a 133kW 1.6L turbo petrol engine combined with an 81kW electric motor, coupled with an electronic 8-speed Efficient Automatic Transmission (e-EAT).


With a 12.4kWh capacity lithium-ion battery, the Citroën C5 X Plug-in Hybrid has a WLTP test range of up to 60km of electric-only driving2.


The C5 X Plug-in Hybrid provides a flexible driving experience with four distinct modes:

  • In Electric Mode, the vehicle operates solely on electric power, supported by Citroën Advanced ComfortTM Suspension.
  •  Hybrid Mode alternates between electric and petrol, maintaining standard suspension.
  • Comfort Mode ensures a serene ride by adjusting the suspension for that "flying carpet" effect.
  •  Sport Mode offers a dynamic driving experience with continuous combustion engine operation supported by the electric motor for maximum power output. Additionally, steering, accelerator, and automatic transmission settings become more dynamic, while the active suspension system switches to a tighter Sport mode, enhancing driving enjoyment.

 Charging solutions

The Citroën C5 X Plug-in Hybrid comes as standard with a mode two charging cable, supplied with the vehicle at time of delivery. The on-board charger unit restricts the accepted charger to a capacity of 3.7kW.

The C5 X Plug-in Hybrid offers a sophisticated driving experience with an array of advanced interior features. Drivers enjoy a configurable 7” digital driving cockpit, providing customisable information and controls.


Enhancing visibility and convenience, the windscreen projected Extended Head Up Display (e-HUD) ensures vital information is always in view. This is complimented by the centre console’s intuitive 12” High-Definition capacitive touch screen display with 3D Satellite Navigation.


Customers can enjoy a variety of entertainment options with wireless Apple CarPlay® & Android Auto connectivity and charging4, AM, FM & DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) radio and Bluetooth® phone connectivity.

Drivers can fine-tune their seating position with the electric, 8-way memory settings, while the front passenger has the benefit of an electric 6-way seat. Optimal comfort within the cabin is achieved thanks to heated seats, multi-point massage function and electric lumbar adjustment for both driver and front passenger.
