Citroën Australia will launch a range of scented roof decals alongside the forthcoming, new-look, DS 3 hatch and cabriolet.
The new decals, developed in Australia, are activated by sunlight and will come in a range of scents that can be selected by the owner.
The new exterior scent compliments the existing inbuilt, dash mounted, scent dispenser available on all DS 3 models.
National Accessories Manager, Juan Aeprul, said that the innovative decals add an additional sensory experience to the highly customisable compact hatch and cabriolet.
"In this segment of the market it's all about innovating and we believe this new feature will put us on the radar of customers who may not have considered a DS before," said Aeprul.
"The DS 3 is already a highly individualised vehicle offering over 200 possible colour combinations – but these new decals take the sensory experience to the next level,"
"The DS 3 has always catered to the senses – it's great to look at, its high quality materials are good to touch and now it'll be wonderful to smell," said Aeprul.
Scented roof decals will also be joined by non-scented options to allow style-driven DS 3 buyers to ensure no two cars are ever quite the same thanks to the wide range of colours available for each decal design.
The six themes are:
- Butterflies
- Chequerboard
- Union Jack
- Leopard Print
- Jigsaw
- Birds & Leaves
For DS 3 buyers wanting a more subtle way to stand out from the crowd the 2015 update introduces a new optional roof colour, Vert Emeraude (Emerald Green).
The new-look DS 3 is set to arrive in Australian dealerships mid-April – future pricing and specification details will be available closer to launch.
