As proud partners of the Amy Gillett Foundation, Citroën Australia is delighted to announce the raffle of a brand-new MY22 Citroën C5 X to raise funds to support the Foundation’s mission of improving cycling safety in Australia through the Safe Roads for Safe Cycling program*.
The Foundation was established in memory of Amy Gillett who, whilst cycling in Germany as part of the Australian women’s cycling team in 2005, tragically lost her life after being struck by a car. The Amy Gillett Foundation is now Australia’s leading cycling safety organisation and is instrumental in mapping safe streets for cyclists, educating drivers about maintaining a safe distance, and being an advocate for improving cyclist safety by building public awareness and engaging in discussions on public policy and legislation where there is the opportunity for improved road safety outcomes.
The core mission of the Amy Gillett Foundation is to reduce the death and injury of cyclists on Australian roads, a passion Citroën shares and supports through its partnership with the Foundation.
Kate Gillis, Managing Director Citroën Australia, commented: “We’rehonoured that the new Citroën C5 X, our flagship vehicle, will play a role in raising awareness around the importance of cycling safety in Australia and that this raffle will raise crucial funds to support the mission we share with the Amy Gillett Foundation’s to improve safety on our roads.”
“It is important for drivers, as well as cyclists, to be aware of the dangers posed to those riding on the road, and partnerships such as this highlight this shared responsibility. Educating road users and improving public awareness is key to the Amy Gillett Foundation and through fundraisers such as this, we can help spread the message of road safety.”
