Citroën Australia is proud to announce its partnership with leading cycling safety organisation, the Amy Gillett Foundation.
Citroën Australia will support the Amy Gillett Foundation as the National Brand Ambassador as well as the Gran Fondo Naming Rights partner.
Kate Gillis, Managing Director Citroën Australia, commented: "Whether driving a vehicle or riding a bike, we all must play our part in looking after the wellbeing of all road users. We recognise it takes the broader education, support and commitment from all community members to achieve this shared goal."
"The Amy Gillett Foundation has been a driving force for change in Australian road and cyclist safety for over fifteen years and so it is with great respect and appreciation that we are starting our journey together today.
"We look forward to our partnership and supporting the dedicated initiatives, educational programs, and events of the Amy Gillett Foundation."
The Amy Gillett Foundation was established in 2006, following the death of Amy Gillett, who was killed by a driver on 18 July 2005 while she was cycling in Germany with the Australian women's cycling team. Since then the organisation has been a leading national advocate to improve cyclist safety, building public awareness and educating road users to make cycling safer in Australia.
Dan Kneipp, CEO of the Amy Gillett Foundation, welcomed Citroën Australia as the Foundation's latest partner commenting: "We are excited to have Citroën on board to further support our core mission to reduce the death and injury of cyclists.
"Not only will the partnership help us to continue our work towards a safer future for all road users in Australia, but we are also excited to have such an iconic automotive brand with a unique focus on wellbeing supporting our organisation.
"As we look forward to the next few months, we are particularly excited for this year's Gran Fondo, where Citroën will be centre stage as the Naming Rights partner."
The Amy Gillett Foundation Gran Fondo will be held in Lorne, Victoria from 9th – 10th September 2023.
Supported by a fleet of Citroën C5 X passenger vehicles, cyclists of all abilities will be invited to take part in the endurance course within one of the most picturesque destinations on the planet – the Great Ocean Road.
