Eli Evans and Glen Weston driving the Team Citroen Australia DS3-R3 have made a history in Australian Rallying by taking outright victory in Round 1 of the Australian Rally Championship in Perth.
This is Citroen's second year in the championship and to win the opening round has cemented there position as a championship contender.
Eli Evans and Glen Weston's Citroen dominated day two of the event winning five of today's gravel stages to establish a comfortable lead and controlled proceedings to win the event by 47 sec over arch rival and his brother 4 time Australian Champion Simon Evans.
"We came to Perth to prove a point and with Citroen we have done that today, the battle we had with Simon over the opening stages to get an advantage of 3.5 sec before minor electrical problem slowed his main opposition was an indication of how competitive the championship will be over the remaining rounds."
In their first outing in a Citroen the result is a great relief, "I wanted to do well for the team who have put a lot of belief in me and to have a win in our first event is a very proud moment"
The team now has a few weeks to prepare for round two in Australia's national capital Canberra on May 15-17th
