The highly capable all-wheel-drive Volvo XC70 enters 2012 has
been enhanced by added safety technology and the addition of the
new Teknik package that is available with both the refined new
158kW twin-turbo diesel engine and the powerful 179kW 3.2-litre
six-cylinder petrol engine.
The new XC70 features the next-generation City Safety along with
Volvo's new Driver Control Interface and Volvo Sensus, Adaptive
Cruise Control with Full Auto Brake, Pedestrian Detection and Queue
Assist.is now available as an option.
All XC70 models gain a power operated tailgate, as well as the
High-Performance multimedia audio system with 7-inch colour screen
and a reversing camera as standard equipment. This adds to a
comprehensive standard equipment list that includes HDC Hill
Descent Control, full-leather trim, Volvo's Private Locking system
and Valder 17-inch light alloy wheels.
The new Teknik pack adds Volvo Navigation System (VNS), Blind
Spot Information System (BLIS), Active Bending Lights (ABL) and
power passenger seat, all bringing higher-still levels of
convenience and driving safety. These features add to Volvo's Side
Impact Protection System (SIPS), dual-stage driver and passenger
airbags, inflatable side curtain airbags and Whiplash Protection
System (WHIPS) in the front seats.
New LED mood lighting in the front floor area and behind the
unique floating centre console introduce a warm interior ambience
and there are new LED indicators in the door mirrors to better warn
approaching drivers when making a turn, while also giving a more
contemporary look.
For outstanding all-weather security, the XC70 continues to
drive all four wheels through Volvo's six-speed adaptive Geartronic
automatic transmission.
