- Rear park assist standard on all models
- High Performance Sound standard across the range
- Bluetooth audio streaming standard on all models
- New T5 Lifestyle
Volvo's highly distinctive C30 two-door gains significant
improvements in standard equipment across all models, from the
outstandingly economical DRIVe through to the powerful T5 S, the T5
R-Design and the newly-introduced T5 Lifestyle.
All versions now come with standard rear park assist -
previously standard only on the T5 RDesign - as well as Volvo's
High Performance sound. These two new additions alone used to cost
$2000. This lifts the C30's status and adds to already impressive
equipment levels that include auto-dim internal rearview mirror,
cruise control, audio streaming Bluetooth functionality, dedicated
LED Daytime Running Lights and USB input for iPod connectivity.
Two new colours - a beautiful Hello Yellow and a classy Caspian
Blue - as well as new Orange Flame and Terra Bronze exterior
contrast colours further highlight the C30's individuality. There
is also the addition of new Spider Diamond Cut 17-inch alloy wheels
which add to an already wide range of wheel options. The 2012 Volvo
C30 offers the level of personalisation that is demanded by buyers
in this segment.
Adding to this customer choice is the new C30 T5 Lifestyle
variant, which is equipped similarly to the T5 R-Design. T5
Lifestyle features include a power driver's seat, leather
upholstery, Active Bending Lights (ABL) with washers, rain sensor
wipers, a rear-seat centre armrest and a hard load cover for added
security in the luggage area.
The new C30 T5 Lifestyle package adds to its on-road presence
with standout Zaurak Diamond Cut 17-inch alloy wheels that combine
high style with upgraded handling and roadholding capabilities.
The C30 R-Design models gain silver mirrors, the 18-inch Midir
alloy wheel, unique R-design upholstery, badging, sports pedals,
mats, grille and sports body styling kit.
For just $800 buyers can option all C30 models with the Sports
Chassis which adds stiffer springs, firmer monotube dampers,
stiffer stabilizer bars and a quicker steering rack.
All C30s come with a six-speed manual. A five-speed Geartronic
automatic transmission is available on all the T5s.
With the impressive efficiency of the 1.6-litre turbodiesel
DRIVe, which uses start/stop technology to bring a combined fuel
economy figure of just 3.9L/100km along with CO2 emissions of
104g/km, and the surging power of the 169kW turbocharged
five-cylinder engine that is standard elsewhere across the C30
range, the distinctive and desirable twodoor Volvo enters the 2012
model year with ever more verve and promise.
Despite extra equipment valued at more than $2000 pricing of the
new models has only increased by $500 on average. In some variants
prices have actually decreased such as the R-design models which
are both $960 cheaper.
All of this means one thing: in 2012, Volvo's C30 is a better
than ever value proposition.
