Volvo Car Australia today announced the pricing for its S60 luxury sedan ahead of the official Australian introduction in August.
The arrival of the S60 means that the transformation is complete for Volvo Cars. The S60 joins the highly successful and multi award winning line up of SUV's. With a swag of awards attributed to the SUV range of vehicles Volvo Cars is confident that the exquisite sedan and the wagon additions will strike a similar cord with the Australian automotive buying public.
The Volvo model line-up is now spread across the luxury segments paving the way for further growth in terms of sales and profitability.
Nick Connor, Managing Director of Volvo Car Australia, said: "Sedan and wagon vehicles have always been popular with Australian car buyers, and with the addition of our S60 and V60 vehicles we intend to reinvigorate those body styles. Our sedan and wagon vehicles are regarded as the most stylish in the world, with both vehicles recently nominated for the 2019 World Car of the Year Awards."
"In such a competitive market you need to stand out from the crowd." "We are confident that with their very distinctive look and competitive pricing the S60 and the V60 will make an immediate impact with buyers who are looking for something very different from the staid models in the luxury segment today."
"S60 and V60 are the perfect cars for the Australian lifestyle and both perfectly complement our already award-winning SUV line-up." "With the addition of these two vehicles our entire model line is now new and fresh." "We have saved the best for last".
The S60 and the V60 are underpinned by Volvo's new Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) and include a range of ground-breaking technologies first introduced on its multi award winning XC90 and XC60 vehicles.
Volvo's approach to safety and user experience builds on a philosophy it calls Circle of Life: a constant improvement of standards and technologies, based on consumer insights and real life data.
Safety and driver assistance features offered on the S60 and V60 include Volvo's semiautonomous Pilot Assist system, the latest generation of City Safety, Run-off Road protection and mitigation, Cross Traffic Alert with auto brake and the 360° Camera that helps drivers manoeuvre their car into tight parking spaces. These and other technologies make both the S60 and the V60 one of the best equipped luxury cars on the Australian market.
S60 and the V60 arrive onto the Australian shores during the first two weeks of August 2019.
Performance
At launch the S60 and V60 come with two petrol-powered powertrains. The T5 delivers 187 kW and 350Nm of torque whilst the T8 Twin Engine Plug in Hybrid delivers a combined 311kW and 680Nm.
However, it is not just under the hood that the S60 and V60 deliver healthy performance. The new Clean Zone multi climate system removes harmful pollutants and particles from outside the cabin to deliver Scandinavian-fresh air on the inside.
Volvo Cars' driver infotainment system (Sensus) with smartphone integration for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is also available.
The Volvo S60 and V60 will be available in three variants – Momentum, Inscription and the sporty and dynamic R-Design.
