Volvo offers Swedish customers the ultimate in external
body treatment
Volvo Cars will offer C30 customers the opportunity to further
individualise their vehicles with a range of bold exterior colour
treatments using a special appliqué film.
Zebra patterns, flames, clouds and urban panoramas compete with
rainbows are just some of the patterns that will adorn a new breed
of C30s.
The appliqué offers guaranteed durability for
approximately two years, after which it can be replaced with a new
motif, or removed completely.
The car's paintwork has, in the meantime, been spared the
rigours of weather, wind and the risk of stone-chip damage.
At this point in time the innovative approach to personalisation
is only offered to Volvo customers in Sweden.
The personalised Volvo C30 can be ordered through any Volvo
dealer in Sweden and the appliqué film is applied by an
independent contractor immediately after the car has been built at
the factory, after which it is delivered to the customer.
The customer can "trial-build" the car in all the available
variants to see how it will look, using a special website developed
for the purpose (www. volvoC30.se).
Volvo Car Australia's marketing director, Matt Braid, says the
appliqué treatment isn't available to the global market at
this stage but is on Volvo Car Australia's wish list.
"The feature isn't on offer to the world market yet, but
Australian C30 buyers would be the perfect candidates for this type
of personalisation," he said.
"C30 buyers tend to be youthful, free-spirited individuals who
like to defy the norm. The chance to built a C30 making such a bold
statement would be a welcome addition to the options list."
