Suzuki Australia is on its way to becoming Australia's Compact SUV leader, with the introduction of the new Vitara S Turbo model in 2WD & 4WD.

The Vitara S Turbo, utilises Suzuki's legendary 4x4 heritage, combined with strong SUV design and compact vehicle know how. This 1.4L turbocharged engine is coupled with a 6 speed automatic transmission, complemented by an aggressive design including a distinctive new chrome grille – all while delivering impressive fuel economy of 5.9L/100km.

The 1.4L Direct Injection Turbocharged engine underwent exhaustive development, as Suzuki's engineers focused on minimising turbo lag.

This newly-developed boosterjet turbo engine, directly attaches the turbocharger to the cylinder head and incorporates the exhaust manifold into the cylinder head casting.

This design ensures optimum gas flow with minimal heat loss through the turbo unit – delivering extra power and torque, with outstanding fuel economy.

Suzuki Australia General Manager Automobiles, Andrew Moore stated:
"With many customers in small hatches considering compact SUV's, we offer what our competitors can't – better performance and value combined with light car fuel economy."

The Vitara S Turbo, designed and manufactured in Europe delivers a high level of quality and premium features, all for a value-packed price of $29,990 Driveaway. With a number of standard specifications including leather seats with suede inserts,17" Black Alloys, LED DRL's, Foglights, Privacy Glass, Knee Airbag, Apple Carplay and Satellite Navigation, Suzuki S Turbo gives customers more value for money, in comparison to competitors specifications.

In addition, Moore stated "Unlike other compact SUV's, which have limited cargo space and ground clearance such as the Mazda CX3, the Suzuki Vitara has all the space, power and fuel economy needed to meet the lifestyle needs of our customers, plus true 4x4 ability (with ALLGRIP models)."

A key strength of the Suzuki Vitara is its exciting colour range and vast number of personalisation options.

The S Turbo doesn't fail to deliver, introducing a brand new two-tone colour to the range, with a bright red body with black roof, exclusive to the S Turbo.

Andrew Moore advised "Whilst we're excited to introduce the bright red colour for S Turbo, we haven't forgotten our consumer demand for the ever-popular turquoise with black roof, with stock issues hampering supply at launch. With two-tone colours making up over 60% of our incoming stock, and turquoise half of that, there will be more two-tone and bright colours available."

Moore continued "Suzuki is a youthful, vibrant brand so we want to see fun, fresh colours out on the streets – not just the standard monotone colours."

Aside from initial stock shortages in 2015, the launch of Vitara has been extremely popular and a great step forward for Suzuki Australia.

Andrew Moore states "The challenge now for Suzuki is to build awareness of Vitara, to ensure that we're on the shopping list for those considering a compact SUV. I strongly believe that if more Mazda CX3 or Honda HR-V customers had experienced the Vitara, there would have been many different purchase outcomes."
