Subaru and its performance division, Subaru Tecnica International (STI) have unveiled a stunning racing car development of the new generation WRX STI.
The racing car will be used in the N+â-+rburgring 24-Hour endurance race in Germany from June 19-22, 2014.
It will be STI's seventh consecutive year at N+â-+rburgring. STI will be aiming for its third victory in the SP3T class.
As with last year's campaign, Hideharu Tatsumi will be team manager, in addition to being responsible for development of the car. Toshihiro Yoshida and Kouta Sasaki, both from Japan, will be listed as drivers, with two more to be announced from Europe.
The production version of new Subaru WRX STI will be revealed at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit next week.
SUPER GT SERIES
Last season, Subaru's BRZ GT300 race car took pole position five times in eight races in the Japanese Super GT Series and achieved a class win. With the upgraded 2014 BRZ GT300 version, STI will aim for a series win this year.
As in previous years, the team will be operated in conjunction with R&D Sport, led by Director Shinji Motojima. Kouta Sasaki and newly recruited Takuto Iguchi will drive for the team.
INTERNATIONAL RALLY SERIES
Subaru will continue to support privateer drivers participating in the FIA World Rally Championship 2 (WRC2) and European Rally Championship (ERC).
