Peugeot Automobiles Australia has joined forces with Targa Tasmania Competitors, Don and Margie McIntyre to launch a Targa One Design Class car.
For the first time, drivers will be able to compete on truly equal terms in identical Peugeot 206 GTi 180's, a brilliant hot-hatch equipped with a 130kW engine, with World Rally Championship bred credentials.
The cars will be fully prepared by Ocean Frontiers Pty Ltd in Hobart, to Targa Tasmania 'Modern Showroom Class' specifications, providing owners with a turn key package, which is road registered for $49,750.
The cars are comprehensively fitted out for the task of competing in Targa Tasmania, and feature:
Full roll cage, FIA/CAMS approved bolt in, including camera base, Two Sparco Pro 2000 racing seats, Two x five point, 3-inch racing harnesses (Original belts remain), Peltor FMT 110 intercom for Driver and Navigator, Terra Trip Rally computer with two rear wheel sensors and change over switch, Dual battery kill switches, Adjustable navigators foot brace, Helmet storage system, Fire extinguishers fitted below navigator's seat and in rear compartment, First Aid kit fitted to rear roll cage, Two safety triangles fitted to rear Navigators seat, High temp racing brake pads and Hydraulic fluid fitted, 5mm aluminium sump guard fitted to engine compartment, Spare rim security tie down, Cams required Log Book and approval decals.
The package also includes additional elements to ensure a hassle free event, aimed particularly at Targa Tasmania 'first timers'. Service and technical support will be provided during the event by Peugeot Automobiles Australia, along with full event mentoring, one day of driver / navigator training, assistance in gaining CAMS licenses and access to pre-booked accommodation packages. Full vehicle management (including garaging in Tasmania) is also available to interstate owners.
