HAVAL has confirmed the show-stopping HB-03 concept unveiled at Auto Shanghai last month will go into production.
And HAVAL Australia has confirmed the all-new SUV will join the local line-up when it is launched in 2020.
"We are very excited to announce the HB-03 concept will become the next HAVAL SUV Coupe," said HAVAL Australia Chief Marketing Officer Tim Smith.
"We have been working closely with the product planning team in head office, lining up the best possible product for the Australian market.
"We were excited by the preliminary drawings we saw of the coupe concept and the product displayed at Shanghai confirmed this was a vehicle we had to have in our line-up.
"A combination of stunning lines and an optional hybrid powertrain gives this vehicle the potential to be the next game changer for the HAVAL brand," said Mr Smith.
China's leading SUV manufacturer wowed audiences at Auto Shanghai 2017 with the unveiling of a stunning new hybrid-powered SUV coupe concept.
HAVAL Design Director Pierre Leclercq said the concept was a continuation of the DNA evolution shown in the HB-02 concept at Beijing in 2016.
"The HB-03 combines clever hybrid technology together with the pure excitement of a real coupe. It's very sporty and dynamic, but does not compromise on headroom and rear-seat comfort.
"HAVAL is proud to design vehicles that inspire and we are very confident the new SUV coupe will do very well in the Australian market."
The concept vehicle is powered by an intelligent hybrid powertrain delivering more than 200 kW and 450 Newton-metres, while consuming just 2.1 litres of fuel every 100 km.
