GWM Australia is pleased to confirm that the All-New Haval H6 medium SUV will go on sale in Australia in Q2 with the first unit having already arrived in the country to undergo local testing ahead of launch.
Sitting on a completely new lightweight modular platform, the H6 will arrive into Australian showrooms as the most technologically advanced SUV in the brand's history.
GWM commenced development of this new platform in 2015. Since then, the company has invested over US $2.9 billion in R&D to deliver next generation products, the first of which is the new H6.
Powered by an upgraded 4 cylinder 2.0 litre turbo petrol engine with 150kW and 320Nm mated to a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission, the H6 will be available in Australia in both Front-Wheel Drive and Four-Wheel Drive.
The Four-Wheel Drive system features four different configurations – Standard, Economy, Sports and All-Terrain
With Phil Simmons, Haval's Global Design Chief, at the helm the new Haval H6 has matured into a sophisticated medium SUV that fuses simple but exquisite curves and lines to deliver sophisticated elegance.
With a wheelbase of 2738mm, length of 4653mm, width of 1886mm and weighing 1550kg (Front-Wheel Drive variants,) the new H6 is larger and lighter than the model it replaces. In fact, the new H6 is one of the largest in the medium SUV class outsizing other models such as the Toyota RAV4, Mazda CX-5 and Hyundai Tucson.
Elegance continues to be the theme on the interior of the H6 with the latest in automotive technology such as wireless phone charging, LED instrument cluster, 360 degree camera, heated steering wheel and fully automatic parking available.
The new H6 has been engineered to meet the highest safety standards and a wide array of active safety features including Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Traffic Sign Recognition and Driver Fatigue Monitoring will be standard across the range.
GWM Australia Head of Marketing & Communications, Steve Maciver said "We are delighted to welcome the all-new H6 to the Haval SUV line-up. The design and engineering teams that have produced this world-class SUV have done an outstanding job and there's no doubt it will further elevate the status of the GWM Haval brand here in Australia."
"With sophisticated design and a feature-packed specification list, the new H6 is the definition of affordable luxury."
Replacing the highly successful current generation H6 which has sold more than 3 million units globally over the last 5 years, the new model is expected to continue this trend and become a mainstay of the local Australian range.
Full specifications, features and pricing will be disclosed at a later date.
