- Falken partners with the Red Bull Air Race in Chiba, Japan.
- Falken Supports pilot Yoshihide Muroya.
Falken is pleased to announce the renewed support of the Red Bull Air Race Chiba 2016. In the race series, world-class air race pilots fly specialised high-speed, highly manoeuvrable race planes at speeds of up to 370km/h through a low-altitude aerial race course demarcated by 25m-tall air-filled pylons, known as air gates.
The competition, which tests the pilots in terms of both speed and precision flying, is part of a world air race championship that is officially recognised by Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI - the World Air Sports Federation). The Chiba round is the third of eight races as part of the Red Bull Air Race World Championship 2016 and is the second Red Bull Air Race to be held in Japan.
Falken will also continue the sponsorship of pilot Yoshihide Muroya, the only pilot from Asia to participate in this year's Red Bull Air Race. Yoshihide Muroya is an outstanding pilot whose hard-won flying skills have taken him to various competitions around the world and earned him widespread recognition on the global stage.
Holding the distinction of being the only pilot from Asia to compete in the Master Class at international air race competitions, Muroya placed sixth overall in the last year's Red Bull Air Race World Championship, achieving third-place finishes at two of the air races.
"Red Bull and the Air Race are always on the cutting edge. It is this ideology which resonates with Falken as we share the same passions and beliefs," says William Ng, Falken Tyre Australia Marketing Manager. "Falken has cemented itself as brand synonymous with performance having earned its stripes in racing also. It's really a fitting partnership on many levels."
