For the third consecutive year, Falken will be sponsoring the Red Bull Air Race Chiba 2017. In the race series, world-class air race pilots fly specialised high-speed, highly manoeuvrable race planes at speeds of up to 370km/h through a low-altitude aerial race course demarcated by 25m-tall air-filled pylons, known as air gates. This year's event will be held over the June 3-4 weekend at Makuhari Seaside Park in the Chiba Prefecture of Japan.
Falken will be in the air with Yoshihide Muroya and the Team Falken race plane. Muroya, having won the Chiba 2016 event, will be coming in from a win at the previous San Diego round.
On the ground the Falken exhibit will feature displays of the latest tyres as well as a scale model of the Team Falken race plane. A message board will be made available where fans can write words of encouragement to show their support. In addition, the Falken booth will also be hosting performances by pro skateboarders and BMX athletes.
