This year, Falken will once again be looking to win big in the Eifel – the tyre brand is sponsoring the ADAC TOTAL 24-Hour Race, which will take place at the Nürburgring from 20th to 23rd June 2019. Falken first joined the event as a partner in 1999 and, since then, has consistently upped its involvement.
More than 400 tyre retailers and almost 50 journalists from all key European markets will be hosted by a range of hospitality providers and can look forward to experiencing a thrilling weekend of racing at the "Grüne Hölle" (Green Hell), the oldest and most famous part of the Nürburgring racetrack. At the trade fair stand in the ring boulevard, in addition to viewing the latest Falken tyre products, fans and guests will also have the chance to take part in an autograph-signing session with the drivers, as well as in many more activities.
This season, the Falken team will be making use of a tried-and-tested line-up when it comes to drivers. They will once again be taking their places on the starting grid in two iconic racing cars: the Porsche 911 GT3R (991.2) will be driven by Martin Ragginger (AUT) and Klaus Bachler (AUT), who will be supported by the Porsche factory drivers Dirk Werner (GER) and Jörg Bergmeister (GER). At the wheel of the BMW M6 GT3, Falken drivers Peter Dumbreck (GBR) and Alexandre Imperatori (SUI) will be taking turns with the two BMW factory drivers Stef Dusseldorp (NED) and Jens Klingmann (GER).
Last year, the 24-hour race came to a close with both Falken racing cars having secured spots in the top 15. The Falken Porsche finished in 9th place and the Falken BMW finished in 15th place.
Falken will be streaming the 2019 race live over the weekend through a dedicated 24h site www.24hlive.falkentyre.com and on Falken's Facebook page www.facebook.com/falken. Stay tuned to the Falken Instagram and YouTube pages for updates from the Ring.
"We have been rising to the challenge of the Nürburgring since 1999", said Markus Bögner, COO, President and Managing Director of Falken Tyre Europe GmbH, regarding the tyre brand's commitment to motorsports.
"Back then, we started with our Ford Cosworth and our Nissan Skyline, which has since reached legendary status. The experience which we have gathered since then has made us confident that we will perform well yet again this year, and that we will also be able to provide our guests with an unforgettable weekend of racing".
