Sydney, 12 September, 2024 – Škoda’s Scala compact hatchbacks have been renewed, re-equipped and re-priced for Model Year 2024 (MY24) with the Scala Select staring from a national $32,490 drive-away and the Scala Monte Carlo from a national $43,990 drive-away.

Positioned between the Fabia city car and the Octavia mid-sizer in Škoda’s passenger vehicle range, the renewed Scala collects new kit to complement its retained direct injection turbo charged engines – which remain exceptions amid a field of competitors with 1990s drivetrains.

The Scala Select 85TSI is driven by the perky 3-cylinder engine that produces 85kW and a an impressive 200Nm from tis 1.0-litre capacity, via a seven-speed DSG transmission.

Standard equipment includes 17-inch alloys, 6 airbags, Advanced Driver fatigue Detection, Front Assist with city/pedestrian/cyclist detention, Lane Assist, Side Assist with Rear Traffic Alert; Rear View Camera, Tyre Pressure Monitoring, drive mode selection, keyless entry and start, auto dimming rear view mirror and rain sensing wipers.

The Scala Monte Carlo gains a 1.5-litre four cylinder engine with 110kW/250Nm, 18-inch alloys, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist with Adaptive Lane Guidance, Park Assist, Sports Chassis Control, Power adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, heated sports comfort front seats with with side bolsters and integrated headrests, power tailgate with virtual pedal.

Each version can be had in one of seven colours, Candy White being the no cost option on the Select; Steel Grey the Monte Carlo’s equivalent. Otherwise it’s $550 for Magic Black; Moon White; Brilliant Silver; Graphite Grey or Race Blue with Velvet Red premium paint at $1100.

Škoda’s Scalas can be purchased with GFV on Škoda Choice* from $87 per week (at 6.99% p.a with 20% deposit, 60 month term and 15,000km limit)**.
