Volkswagen Group Australia sold all 100 lots at yesterday's dealer auction, the importer's third consecutive 100% clearance since auctions recommenced last month.
VGA has successfully auctioned all 260 vehicles offered in three auctions over four weeks – the company's first auctions held after the outbreak of COVID-19.
Yesterday 100 company and display vehicles were bid on by 40 dealers, an appreciable increase in both lots and bidders on the May 27 and June 10 auctions with 80 lots offered at each.
Run through Pickles Auctions, the vehicles are sold on to the public as Certified Pre-owned Cars, subject to a 114 point inspection by VGA.
Volkswagen's General Manager of Passenger Vehicle Sales Ben Wilks said there were again strong residual values across the board, with particularly strong RVs on Golf GTI, Golf R, Amarok V6 Ultimate and Arteon. The latter, which is on a production hiatus, returns to local showrooms early next year.
"Three consecutive 100% clearance rates at dealer auctions reflects the demand we're seeing in the new car market and that equates to some of the strongest weeks of recent years," said Ben Wilks, Volkswagen's General Manager of Passenger Vehicle Sales. "It's clear that we're experiencing a strong recovery after the outbreak of the pandemic."
