Suzuki Australia is excited to announce its latest partnership with the talented Singer/Songwriter Carlos C Major Velazquez.
Most recently seen on Channel Nine's hit show The Voice Australia, Carlos was invited back to Season 8 2019 as an 'ALL STAR' and smashed through the blind auditions and live performances making it to the Top 16.
Carlos' music is infectious, strong, dynamic and is the perfect blend of RnB, Neo Soul mixed with a sensual Latino flavour. A high energy performer with a unique style matched with flawless vocals.
Carlos first started performing at school assemblies and events from the tender age of 6.
He then began learning piano through the AMEB (Australian Music Examinations Board) at the age of 8. After 5th grade in piano, his interests developed to further his knowledge in other musical instruments such as Guitar, Bass, Drums and Percussion. He followed his dream of having a successful career in music to become one of the feature solo artists in the annual 'Schools Spectacular' held at the entertainment centre and televised on ABC.
At the age of 15, Carlos began composing and producing music and won his first award at the 'Kool Skools' song writing competition for best RnB/Pop song.
In 2004, Carlos (19) appeared in one of Australia's most popular reality TV shows 'Australian Idol - Season 2' on channel 10, where he was a Top 30 finalist and came back as a 'Wild Card'. He then performed at the
'Grand Finale' at the Sydney Opera House as a solo performer.
Following this, he performed at most Nightclub venues all over Australia and appeared many times on channel 7, 9 & 10 on Today, Sunrise, Kerri-Anne Kennerly, Carols by Candlelight and more.
His passion for his Latin heritage and Latin/Australian music community led him to Perform with many Afro-Cuban bands since the age of 14.
Following his production passion, Carlos teamed up with fellow artist/producer Breeze Daniels and started a production company called 'Suite 110'. Together they have worked/produced/written with many world renowned artists such as: T-Pain, B.O.B, Royce Da 5'9, Wanye Morris (Boys 2 Men), Mars (1500), Fat Man Scoop, Bone Thugs and Harmony, Mr. Porter (Eminem's Producer), Marvin Priest, Stan Walker, Timomatic, Justice Crew, Young Men Society, and the list goes on.
During this time, Carlos was honing his own craft teaming up with many artists, producers, songwriters and bands influencing a definite unique 'Major' sound. Working internationally and all over Australia with various artists and groups such as: Guy Sebastian, Stan Walker, Jessica Mauboy, Ricky-Lee, Justice Crew, Son Veneno, Marcia Hines, John Foreman etc., he has had lucrative influences in his sound and charismatic stage performance.
Carlos joined The Voice in 2014. He worked closely with superstars Ricky Martin and Will.i.am, both claiming him to be a 'one of a kind' dynamic artist who is set to make his mark in the music industry. He then returned as an 'ALL STAR' in 2019 with unfinished business, teaming up with Boy George to grow as a music professional and show Australia his talent in the Rnb, Soul and Latina musical landscape.
He is praised as a 'one of a kind' artist, whether referring to his premium production or his diverse musical style.
