Melbourne, Victoria – Australia's fastest-growing car company has joined forces with one of the world's most progressive car rental firms to offer Australian customers the chance to go electric in Australia's most affordable EV.
The collaboration between MG Motor Australia and Europcar will see Australia's most affordable electric vehicle, the ZS EV, added to the Europcar fleet at Melbourne Airport from this month.
This is the first time an electric vehicle has ever been offered by a major car rental firm in Australia.
The historic arrangement between MG and Europcar will see 40 ZS EVs join Europcar's fleet, alongside regular versions of Australia's best-selling small SUV.*
The MG ZS EV is the perfect rental option for interstate business travellers, thanks to its long range, ease of use, five-star ANCAP safety rating and SUV practicality.
It also provides the unique opportunity for people to try the electric revolution for themselves.
A typical single-day rental encompasses a distance of less than 120km, well inside the 263km range of the ZS EV. It can also be topped up overnight from a standard 10-amp plug or wallbox, or at the many charging outlets available throughout Melbourne and its suburbs.
"This exciting partnership will provide many people who are thinking of electric motoring the chance to try it for themselves, on their own terms," said Peter Ciao, the CEO of MG Motor Australia. "And this is only the first step in the EV journey for MG and Europcar."
"This partnership between MG and Europcar proves that the electric vehicle has come of age, and discerning business travellers can take advantage of a more streamlined rental experience while reducing their carbon footprint." – Andrew Rickett, Fleet Director, Europcar Mobility Group Australia and New Zealand.
