DAF Trucks Australia has recently introduced two new CF85 model
variants to meet the specific needs of fleet operators.
Launched at Trucks in Action, Warragul, in February, the new
Fleet Spec DAF CF85 8x4 rigid and DAF CF85 6x4 prime mover models
provide heavy-duty fleet customers with the option of lower cost
specifications without compromising DAF's acknowledged reliability,
fuel efficiency, comfort and safety.
DAF Trucks Australia General Manager Carlo Beltrame says the new
products are the direct result of listening to the marketplace and
acting on customer demands.
“DAF's fleet-speced CF85 models strike a perfect balance
between functionality and profitability - premium DAF vehicles with
the features and benefits operators need at competitive
pricing,” he said.
The two new CF85 products suit a diverse range of applications,
from heavy-duty prime mover and intrastate distribution to a
variety of specialised tasks, requiring performance, reliability
and payload capacity.
The Fleet Spec FAD CF85 FS is a twin steer 8x4 rigid, ideally
suited to distribution and specialized applications up to 30 tonnes
GVM and 45 tonnes GCM. These include palletized loads, bulk loading
and tanker applications including concrete pumpers, waste disposal
and other specific 8x4 applications.
Designed for medium to heavy loads this derivative is powered by
a 12.6-litre, 24 valve, 6-cylinder, turbo-charged, intercooled XE
250 Euro III engine. It combines performance, flexibility and fuel
efficiency, producing 250 kW (340 hp) at 1900 rpm, with maximum
torque of 1600 Nm (1180 lb/ft) at 1000 - 1500 rpm.
The Fleet Spec FTT CF85 FS is a 6x4 prime mover ideally suited
to heavy duty, single trailer applications, including intrastate
and local distribution.
The model has a GCM of up to 45 tonnes, powered by DAF's XE 315
C Euro III engine, producing 315 kW (430 hp) at 1900 rpm, with
maximum torque of 1950 Nm (1440 lb/ft) at 1000 - 1500 rpm.
The Fleet Spec models feature a 16-speed synchromesh manual
transmission, front disc brakes, rear drum brakes, steel wheels,
DAF engine brake, ABS, Meritor RT40-145 rear axles and PACCAR
Airglide 200 rear suspension. Standard inclusions for both models
are air-conditioning, electric mirrors and windows as well as a
430-litre alloy fuel tank on the CF85 6x4 and dual 340-litre alloy
fuel tanks on the CF85 8x4.
As with all DAF trucks, the CF85 Fleet Spec models include
renowned European design features including synchromesh
transmissions, driver friendly responsive steering and precision
braking. The new vehicles offer a high level of comfort with
spacious, low-noise and ergonomic day cabs. They also cater for a
diversity of applications and with DAF's high tensile steel chassis
featuring a flush design, will readily accommodate body and
turntable configurations.
“DAF's new Fleet Spec CF85 model variants offer fleet
customers a real choice in the marketplace,” Carlo Beltrame
said. “They have been released with specifications to achieve
productivity and performance, fuel efficiency and low cost of
ownership, all at competitive pricing.
In addition to the Fleet Spec model variants, DAF also offers a
full range of CF85 models, including a 4x2 and 6x4 rigid and prime
mover as well as an 8x4 and a 6x2 rigid, with a choice of
synchromesh manual and automated transmissions.
