Glenn Allerton, riding the NextGen Motorsport Di Candilo Steel
City Pirelli BMW HP4, completed a clean sweep in Round 3 of Formula
OZ at the FX Championship series at Wakefield Park.
Allerton had the BMW HP4 in its distinctive black livery, primed
for the weekend. Competing in the unlimited Formula OZ class the
HP4 was up against an array of high spec machinery but Allerton; in
a perfect riding display took all that was on offer in sensational
weekend racing.
Over the two days Allerton and the BMW HP4 were never headed. In
a totally dominant performance it was pole position and six
checkered flags from six races, along the way a new race lap record
to go with the record-qualifying lap.
Allerton was delighted with the weekend's results. "Wakefield
Park is a new track for us and we did not have our complete team
with us but the BMW HP4 was absolutely awesome. It was a perfect
weekend. I could not be happier," said Allerton.
NextGen Motorsport Principal Wayne Hepburn was also pleased with
the weekend. " It is always good to come away with a victory and
Glenn's performance speaks for itself. I could not have asked for
more. The weekends FX Championship was also important for us as it
is part of the qualifying criteria for the FX 500 'winner take all'
endurance race later in the year" said Hepburn.
Allerton will next be in action in Round 3 of the ASBK at
Queensland Raceway on June 14-16.
