Also celebrating its centennial, Allison will highlight its
presence in Australia with expanded OEM availability and a strong
customer support network.
BRISBANE, Australia - Allison Transmission will
showcase its new TC10(TM) transmission and 5th Generation
electronic controls while also celebrating its centennial at the
Brisbane Truck Show, May 14-17.
"The Brisbane Truck Show is the ideal platform to discuss our
latest products and celebrate our 100th anniversary," said Robert
Cavagnino, Australia sales manager for Allison Transmission.
Allison traces its founding back to 1915. The company evolved
from working on race cars to becoming a leading manufacturer of
both aircraft engines and, beginning in the mid-1940s, automatic
transmissions. Today, Allison Transmission is the world's largest
manufacturer of fully automatic commercial-duty transmissions. The
company has been delivering reliable, efficient transmissions to
Australia for nearly 50 years.
At Booth 86, Allison will highlight its new TC10 transmission.
Designed specifically for road tractors, the TC10has found growing
interest in the U.S. and Canada where fleets have embraced the new
10-speed twin countershaft automatic, which has been delivering
fuel economy improvements in real world day-to-day operations.
Coupled with Allison's 5th Generation electronic controls, the TC10
offers improvements for both productivity and fuel economy. Fleet
operators are experiencing fuel savings with TC10-equipped trucks
compared to their fleet average.
"Outstanding product advantages, including the fuel saving
benefits that our fully automatic transmissions deliver, have made
Allison Automatics the transmission of choice in Australia," said
Cavagnino.
Along with the innovative TC10, many traditional Allison models
will be on display. OEMs such as Hino, Isuzu, UD Trucks, Fuso,
Iveco, Freightliner, Daimler and Western Star will also feature a
wide variety of Allison-equipped vehicles at the show.
Allison continues to grow its reputation as the leading supplier
for Australian commercial-vehicle markets through new OEM releases.
Most recently, four major Japanese OEMs in Australia have recently
introduced Allison fully automatic transmissions in a variety of
distribution trucks.
With reliable products supported by a network of dealers and
distributors which span the country, Allison's strength and success
have been built largely on its long-term commitment to customer
service and support.
