Subaru heats up the month with a blanket of success to mark 30 consecutive month-on-month growth for the brand, according to official VFacts figuresreleased today.
Subaru achieved record June sales of 5,201 vehicles, up 1.3 per cent on the same month last year – and also record-breaking for half-year totals.
Subaru's June market share was 4.3 per cent, totaling 25,962 vehicles YTD. Subaru was one of the top three mainstream Japanese brands to outperform the automotive market, achieving 7.9 per cent positive growth, compared a market increase of just 0.2 per cent.
That is against an overall industry up just 4.4 per cent for the month and 0.2 per cent YTD.
Strong performances from the Subaru passenger range saw sales up 3.4 per cent for the month and 44.6 per cent YTD, defying growth in a declining segment of -5.9 per cent for the month.
Among the star performers for Subaru was the new generation, All-Wheel Drive Impreza with sales of 1,212 - up 72.9 per cent, Forester sales of 1,452 - up 12 per cent for the month and Outback reaching over 1,000 sales at 1,180 by months end
Subaru Australia Managing Director, Colin Christie, said: "In a tough market, Subaru is performing exceptionally well.
"It's been a remarkable first six months for Subaru. With the addition of all-new generation Impreza and now, all-new XV, this has taken the brand to a whole new level of success.
"With significant additions to the model year 18 Levorg Sports Wagon, WRX and WRX STI range due in the coming weeks, we remain confident for continued growth."
