Three collectible Ford Falcons and a superbly-restored Chrysler Valiant Charger 770 Coupe from the early 1970s have already aroused great bidder interest ahead of their appearance at Shannons Spring Classic Auction in Sydney on November 18.

For those who have always wanted to own a legendary Falcon GT, the highlight is a Diamond White XW GT with a manual gearbox.

Fresh from long-term ownership and fitted with the correct Windsor V8 engine,  the XW was originally sold through Metropolitan Motors of Eagle Farm, in Queensland.

It has been in the hands of its lady owner since the late 1980s, making occasional appearances at Ford events over the past 30 odd years. 

Presenting in very honest condition, showing evidence of a life well lived, the XW GT is being offered with 'no reserve' and is expected to sell in the $100,000-$110,000 range.

Equally appealing to Chrysler enthusiasts is a two-owner 1972 Chrysler VH Valiant Charger 770 Coupe that has been in the same careful hands for the past 20 years.

Ordered with the rare combination of the luxury 770 trim and the Hemi six, three-speed manual gearbox and finished in factory Hemi Orange with contrasting black trim, the Charger has been restored to a very high standard and remains in fantastic condition today, with very little evidence of wear thanks to its limited use. 

Perfect for a Chrysler collector, it is expected to sell at auction in the $50,000-$60,000 range.

An interesting Falcon performance alternative to the XW GT is a 1978 XC Falcon GS Rally Pack Sedan – one of only two 'Redback' dealer specials with V8 power specified by Peter Warren Ford of Fairfield, NSW.

Equipped with Ford's 4.9-litre 4-barrel V8 engine, C4 automatic transmission and power steering, in addition to the GS Rally Pack consisting of slotted steel wheels, bonnet scoops, stripes, bumper overriders, additional instrumentation, a sports steering wheel and long-range driving lights, the Warren Ford cars were finished in
unique Onyx Black paint combined with black upholstery featuring red inserts.

Believed to have two owners from new, the car underwent a back to bare metal body restoration in 2004, with no expense spared since, keeping the Ford in excellent running condition. t is expected to sell in the $30,000-$40,000 range.

The final Falcon is an original 'survivor' 1971 Ford XY Falcon 500 Sedan coming to auction from long-term ownership and showing 56,402 miles on its odometer.

This tidy Ford XY Falcon 500 with its column-shift manual transmission and 250-cid six cylinder engine, was originally delivered in Tamworth and is fitted with many period accessories, including under-dashboard air conditioning, Aunger rear window louvres, wind deflectors and 12-slot wheels.

Because of its period authenticity, it is expected to sell with 'no reserve' for $25,000-$30,000.
