- Peugeot 208 tops Small Car class for overall dependability in J. D. Power UK study
- Overall dependability rating is 15 per cent better than the industry average and ahead of luxury marques
- Third year running Peugeot has outperformed numerous Japanese marques in dependability ranking
Peugeot's unyielding focus on quality has been proven in the UK's latest J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study, with the French marque outperforming many Japanese brands for the third consecutive year.
Peugeot's 208 also took class honours as the most dependable vehicle in the small car category, beating-out well known Korean and Japanese marques.
The 2018 J. D. Power survey results show Peugeot's overall dependability to be 15 per cent higher than the industry average and eighth overall – well ahead of the highest-ranked luxury brand and 21 faults per 100 vehicles less than industry average.
Commenting on the results, Peugeot Australia Managing Director Anouk Poelmann said they reinforce efforts being taken at all levels of the business to improve overall vehicle quality and customer service.
"There has been a significant amount of effort at all levels of Peugeot to improve quality and dependability and these latest results reinforce what we already know – Peugeot is an industry leader when it comes to dependability," Ms Poelmann said.
"Even before these results were achieved we had introduced a five-year, unlimited kilometre warranty as a statement in our belief and backing of Peugeot product in Australia,
"Peugeot's new-generation vehicles are revolutionary, not just for their appealing design but also their driving enjoyment and, as this survey demonstrates, their dependability," Ms Poelmann added.
The study, now in its fourth year, measures problems experienced during the past 12 months by original owners of vehicles in the UK after 12 to 36 months of ownership.
The study examined 177 possible problems across eight categories: vehicle exterior; driving experience; features/controls/displays (FCD); audio/communication/entertainment/navigation (ACEN); seats; heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC); vehicle interior and engine and transmission.
These latest J.D. Power results coincide with sharp drive-away offers on the Peugeot 208 range, with savings of between $2,500 and $4,700 (depending on the model). Further details are available at: https://www.peugeot.com.au/new-cars/price-list/208/?lcdv16=1PIAA5HCQQUBA0E0
