Last but certainly not least, the Mazda MX-5 Touring soft-top NC series 2 claimed the win for the sports car category.

Mazda Australia Managing Director, Vinesh Bhindi, was honoured.

"We are thrilled to have placed number one in three categories, this is a testament to the diverse range of vehicles available.

With these models being up to 7 years old, it's also great to reaffirm Mazda offers reliability and longevity in our vehicles" said Bhindi.

Editor in Chief for carsales, Mike Sinclair said; "Mazda has found the sweet spot for desirable cars that are feature-packed and cleverly marketed.

Mazda turned the market on its head when it introduced the fuel-saving SKYACTIV powertrain technology with the third-generation Mazda6 and the original CX-5. Six years later, both those vehicles are still earning plaudits for their all-round appeal, and the MX-5."
