DS Automobiles Australia will become the vehicle marque of choice for Australia's peak design body – Good Design Australia.

Responsible for Australia's longest standing national design award and promotion program, Good Design Australia is one of the few organisations dedicated to promoting excellence in design and innovation.

Through Australia's annual Good Design Awards, the program provides an important platform for designers, engineers, architects and the innovators of the future to showcase their expertise to national and international audiences.

As a result of more than 50 years of design benchmarking, the Good Design Australia has focused on progressively raising the standard of design and innovation in Australia.

DS, a French brand born in Paris with design as its central tenant, was officially founded on 1 June 2014.

Its clearly stated ambition is to revive the tradition of premium vehicles in the French automotive industry.

Inspired by the very best of French know-how, DS continues the values of innovation and distinction inherited from the first DS, launched in 1955 the Citroen DS 19.

General Manager of DS Automobiles Australia, Kai Bruesewitz said that the partnership brings together two organisations invested in the success of design and innovation.

"At the heart of both DS Australia and Good Design Australia is a desire to succeed through fostering design excellence, innovative engineering and intelligent minds, Good Design Australia is a perfect partner for us," said Bruesewitz

"While the DS marque is new, innovation and design runs deep and if our recent concepts are anything to go by we have an exciting future ahead for DS." said Bruesewitz.

Dr. Brandon Gien, CEO of Good Design Australia said the new Automotive partner is an ideal match for the organisation.

"It's great to partner with businesses that place design and innovation at the heart of everything they do. We look forward to working with the DS Automobiles team as they introduce their brand and its products to Australia," said Gien.

"Good design is more than the end product, it's the sum of many parts including smart designers, engineers and passion – but at the heart of it all is a desire to bring a different perspective to the table and DS Automobiles' French design roots will serve them well in the future." said Gien.

Designed for customers looking for a means to express themselves as individuals, the current DS range in Australia comprises DS 3, New DS 3 Cabrio, DS 4 Crossback and DS 5.

Featuring remarkable styling, premium materials and refinement in every detail, the DS range also stands apart for its technology and innovation.
